Americans have short attention spans. The protestors' act will become tired and then their plight will be pretty much ignored.

Like Thorin Oakenshield says in the Hobbit movie.."I want War!" People have been at odds with the NYPD for a very long time and now they have momentum and it's not gonna die for awhile. It'll take some time to cool off such as really cold weather could stall things. I suspect that more people will get hurt or killed and then we may see some national guard action. I honestly don't think it's gonna get very far once old man winter storms back and watch all them youths go back home to play their Grand Theft Auto and have a fire fight with the cops in the game.

The people out protesting are largely just professional agitators. Especially with social media, they feel they belong to some 'cause.' It's the persona these people have chosen to take on.

While I don't agree that 'black lives are under attack' I almost in a way feel bad for those who truly believe it but get their message derailed by these lunatics.

One picture from ferguson really pulled at me. It was easy to look at the looting and almost just laugh at those animals - but there was a picture of five black guys forming a line to keep the agitators at bay. It was a much older gentleman, a younger nerdier guy, and three others, and you could tell from this picture that it was a cause very important to them. But any legitimate message was drowned out due to some of the insane narratives others clung to.

If the next time one of these protests steps off the curb, trying to block traffic, the cops rounded up the whole bunch, cuffed them up, hauled them in (by the thousands if necessary), and let them sit in the tombs for a few days to process them, you'd see these protests drop off. It will cease being fun, and they'll see who's really in charge on the streets.

All lives matter whether they are police or regular citizens. I am so glad that I live in a "free country" which allows for protests and free speech. Most protesters are not anti-police but are not happy with institutionaled racism and the militarization of our police. I wish your new mayor was in office when I lived in NYC. He actually seems reasonable and for "all the people" not just a very small minority.
