There is no correlation between the two. Thus the purpose of this thread is to talk politics in NYC.

Dinkins by contrast is accused of being inept, but not corrupt.

Is he becoming Elliot Spitzer in what way? In controversy or in political style? I think when the time is right, the Liberal Gentry amongst the Wall Street and Business crowed, along with the cities Neocon cohort would probably work together to bring down De Blasio. Lets not forget Media outlets that reaches out to the masses like NYT, Post, Daily News never supported De Blasio during his run because these media outlets know that Blasio does not fit their political rhetoric and style.

Elliot Spitzer would have been an amazing governor if it wasn't for his participation as a consumer in the White Slavery industry which made him end up in a controversy that ended his governorship over the state. The Junior governor Paterson could not replicate Elliot Spitzer. Andrew Cuomo our current Governor is bought and paid for by Wall Street, a symbol of todays growing plutocracy amongst the cities and state gentry liberals who control finance, media and other industries.

I do not think their is no sort o correlation between to the two, but if De Blasio gets hit with a scandal a good chance he may have to step down. Plenty of divide and conquer is going on and the Feds are happy to see divide and conquer is going on in NYC and the Feds along with certain industries are benefiting from it!

New York Times? While it supported Quinn in the primary, in the general election it seemed enthusiastic for DeBlasio:

During the Democratic primary scramble, the largest and most rancorous in decades, we gave our endorsement to Christine Quinn, citing her record as the City Council speaker. But it was Mr. de Blasio who proved far better at connecting with voters — and at being a persuasive advocate for his ideas. The ideas are good ones: Mr. de Blasio is right on public safety, and on the need to rein in the Police Department’s unconstitutional use of stop-and-frisk tactics and restore its frayed ties to the community.

It was equally enthusiastic for Bloomberg in 2009. White Manhattan areas mostly went the same way each election.

Daily News? DeBlasio. Except it's with so many reservations, it's puzzling why. Maybe they wanted to endorse the winning candidate since Lhota had no chance.

The Post? Their choice is obvious enough I'm not bothering to look it up…

I don't think deBlasio can be compared to Spitzer. deBlasio has been pretty forward when it comes to his communist and socialist ties. I have said numerous times that DB is one huge scandal or issue that will cause him not to be re-elected. In one years time we have seen how all the little issues, small scandals and the huge issue with the NYPD are causing him so much grief. I can't see the next 3 years being much different.

As far as Patterson goes, he got a bum rap He was a transparent man who tried to Govern from a nice guy point of view and it back fired on him. Plus Cuomo was sabotaging him every step of the way.

I don't know, but Spitzer paid for it and I would have done it for free.

A Manhattan judge known for being tough on criminals has been booted from the bench by Mayor Bill de Blasio — even against the *advice of his own vetting team, law enforcement sources told The Post on Tuesday.

The move comes on the heels of de Blasio’s reappointment of Brooklyn Judge Laura Johnson, who set free without bail two men who threatened to kill cops just days after a double police assassination.

The booted judge, Diana Boyar, “was fair, knowledgeable and ran the courtroom professionally,” a stunned source said.

Dude is sure trying his best to upset people (it won't be long before he is accused of abusing his powers). I have not seen the media go after someone with so much intensity like this in a while.

Dinkins wasn't inept, he was slow to react to certian situations and became mayor at the worst time when crime, drugs and racial tension was at an all time high. Elliot Spitzer's problem was he couldn't control his testosterone. And yes, you can bet de blasio's critics are looking for anything to tar him with. That is why is important de blasio tread carfully, otherwise, he is done for.
