I have a question: I was working for a company for several years and then I quit my job and after 1 month I found a new job.
But this job didn't go well and they terminated my employment after a month.
Now, I have applied for UI and I am wondering if I will get the unemployment benefits?
I got a letter from department of labor asking me why I quitted my previous job. Should I be concerned that they might deny my UI benefits?
why would you quit the first one without a second lined up?
Great reading skills
Think the OP will be fine actually. It's all about consecutive work history.
Your second will be responsible for your UI claim. The situation is fairly sensible, just unfortunate.

In the initial post the OP stated that he quit his old job and then one month later found a new one from which he was fired. I believe the person you responded to was referring to when the OP quit the first.
I think you will be just fine, eventually...maybe.
Simply say you quit the first job to advance your career. It would have helped your case if you already had that new job lined up. Unfortunately the Labor Department view quitting without a new job as QUITTING,
The wrinkle is that the bulk of the UI will be paid by the FORMER employer and he will contest the claim because you quit. So there will be a battle and the Labor Department is not as lenient as they were.
I think it will have to be settled by an administrative judge and he could rule either way.
Now, if you can give and prove a good reason, like safety, harassment, discrimination, etc., for your quitting job #1 you are home free. ("The boss was constantly pinching my ass." is popular these days. )
DId you have any indication that the particular second job would be forthcoming? That would work in your favor.

Holy jezuz. The irony/stupidity in your post. You should try those reading skills out you mentioned.
