Just a heads up for you guys taking your physicals this week:

Due to the expected inclement weather, the test sessions for the third round of physical testing for Sanitation Worker, Exam No. 6063 planned to be held at the Long Island City testing facility on Tuesday, January 27 and Wednesday, January 28, 2015 are cancelled. Thursday, March 19 and Friday, March 20, 2015 have been added as additional test dates. As indicated on your Admission Notice, rescheduling is available for this test. If you need to reschedule this test, you must call 718-786-2857 between the hours of 10:00AM and 5:00PM. If you do not reschedule yourself through the phone number above and you miss your test, you will not be entitled to a make-up test. Online rescheduling is not available for this test.

Sincerely,
DCAS, Bureau of Examinations

Do you know how much historians make? Besides , sometimes it's about doing something you enjoy , rather than pursuing the almighty dollar.

You haven't taken your physical yet? I have. A higher number and completed mine. You watch a video after signing in -It's a simulated course to lift refuse and baskets. You just have to take your time and have the ability to lift up to 60LBS. Your instructor will walk you through it. Really simple

Maybe with a PhD. I'll pass on the 8 years in college and 400k in loans. I don't love but also don't hate what I do. Take the good with the bad, 95% is good tho. I can't wait for alternate side clearing to go out. I think that's the most fun part of snow operations.

I admire what you do. I admire anyone who is doing a job that they love doing. It's a rarity.
