the article in the link says the Playpen is still around and the article is dated from 10/14.

these few places in Times Square are no longer revolting or frightening like they used to be. Back in the 70's they had adult bookstores which were the lowest of the low. they stretched all the way up 8th Ave to 49th. at least nowadays they know how to make these places appear somewhat "presentable" at least from the outside.

It's a good bet that the Playpen of 2014 was vastly different from that of the 90s.

there were some theaters on Broadway in the 40's that had names with obvious vulgar sexual description. the "Playpen" isn't that graphic in it's title. it looks tawdry but even the neon figures aren't too bad.

Im wondering if The Playpen replaced the Show World Center which had opened in 1977 and was run by some Mafioso type
