I am one of the young professionals, and I always say sorry if I step on someone's toes or bump into them. I actually find it funny when we are all in there like cattle. I typically smile and other then do the same. I mean, what the hell can you do?

Also, a happy hour drink after work helps.

I'm just sure to stay off the train on school days around 3pm. You get hundreds of screaming, wresting, cursing kids in there, falling all over and making noise beyond belief.

Unless you have giant feet, in which case you are so screwed, just keep them under you when standing, as opposed to standing like a big A shaped.

If you are sitting, sort of pull your feet back/under you and you should likewise be fine.

Like "itsideal" said, "you aren't exactly signing up for first class". LOL

I would if I did it but that's only because I always mind my manners, wherever I go. I don't make excuses not to like some of these careless people. You only live once so you might as well be polite to others, especially if step on someone or bump into people and what not.

You never know, someone could tear your head off for doing something stupid to them and not apologizing or acknowledging to them that you did it.
