and on race Blacks have what they have in this country due to what Whites have allowed. If you don't have wealth due to family, then what you have is because of a job or a business.
Whites deny Blacks by denying them jobs and the necessary things to grow like loans, proper schooling, proper residence etc..
The laws that were implemented to stop this was Affirmative Action gained in the 60s Civil Rights movement, so this is why you had one or two Blacks as quotas in the job or accepted to what would be mostly White colleges etc..they were merely following the Affirmative Action laws...
These laws are no longer in affect this is why most professional Blacks lost their jobs and the unemployment for Blacks, became higher than levels in the 60s... because now Whites can just not let you in like before. The illegal aliens gained by using fake papers and riding on these same affirmative action laws that were really for Blacks that were discriminated for hundred of years, because of this system that now has reverted back to Black discrimination they try to change the subject by talking about gay rights.
On another note since the illegal Aliens started to go too far by over stepping Whites things are starting to change they are starting to check to stop the fraud. In NYC most of the minimum wage jobs you are seeing more White and Black Americans than before, because they are starting to check. NYer if you illegal better fix ... because they will soon E-verify everyone. I hope they even check the degrees etc.. and put an end to Nepotism.
If you live in NYC did you not notice all of those business that has closed in the last year. It is due to the IRS who started to crack down on some of the loopholes that illegal aliens were were using to run businesses. Anyone who had a foreign bank account had to report it and you saw all those businesses drop like flies.
Americans this is your time to try and start a business, because job security is no longer exists. in the Rich and very poor scenario... all that has to happen to you is you lose your job... now you are on the other side of the scenario. Some of you think oh I could just get another job... it is no longer that easy.
That is what I have said about race... the IVY League thing is just to mess with NYer.
It is heading towards the Rich and very Poor system... indenture servants ... In America racism has only increased, because Whites face the decline of White privilege and strategically a Black face (Obama) was put to throw of their discontent. Occupy wall street and other movements would have gain momentum to put the light on what is really happening to this country and the Puppeteers behind the strings. Terrorism, racism and gay smokescreens are used to confuse the illiterate... to the change that is occurring. instead of only saying that there is some truth to what I am saying elaborate and add to the conversation...what do you think?
Oh and I'm gay btw Omari. Somehow I doubt you pro Black blacks like that, but whatever. I have had enough fun with White, Asian, and Hispanic men (along with Black men, including Black immigrants).
Nyer I don't see what you being gay has to do with it, but I guess getting multi-national dic* in different languages has changed your mind on race... and if you are Black and the Civil Rights movement is before your time, that doesn't mean that it is not relevant to your existence in America, because with out it... you may have only been getting housing project dic* (that's funny)
before on Christopher street and in the Village among gay people race didn't seem to matter... but I have seen a shift in, which White gays seem to stick with White and Blacks stick with Black. Right on Christopher street there are one mostly all White and right across all Black... bars so racism has increased in our city whether you notice it or not. I live in Manhattan and I see it first hands among all kinds of people... but I have hope I have seen a crackdown on illegal fraud. All they need to do is bring fairness among professionals and back off the work permits, then America can strive again... because illegal Aliens send their money back to their country... they are building for returning not to stay here. Black Americans this is our home... we are invested in this country... and we demand life and liberty like every citizen.
Some how I don't get the impression that Whitney Houston comes from a poor family (Dionne Warwick is her aunt), and neither did Michael Jackson.
The latter came from a factory working family. Struggled because of many kids. But the kids all escaped poverty, one way or the other, as did the parents. The father was integrally involved in the early success of the Jackson 5, so this wasn't one person escaping with the others pulling them back down.
Pick other examples. These don't fit.
Exactly. Neither fits.
Working class people, which the Jacksons were, are not garbage. And Whitney Houston had a media executive as a parent ...? I seem to recall. Her mother was a gospel singer.
Nor should we imagine that all ivy graduates are superior. I could definitely attest that this is not true and from experience. In terms of publicly known cases, look at the writer with the race card lawsuit against several Hollywood studios - making it difficult for people with actual and legitimate cases to gain justice - an ivy league graduate. What a contribution. That person is garbage.

Right. The Civil Rights era was also before my time and yet somehow I manage to keep a handle on its significance.

The work permits and student visas aren't going anywhere. I guess you have a lot of frustration ahead of you. I prefer immigrants to the kind of Black American you are.
I'm Black and I don't stick with Black so speak for yourself on that front.

Actually the Jackson's parents didn't ever work. Beating your kids and making them perform for decades while taking Michael's money isn't work.
Garbage was priced out of the Lower East Side to West Harlem and now fears gentrification there. I'm glad it's speeding up even uptown btw.

First of all you quote the civil rights and then advocate racism against immigrants. This is the lowest form of hypocritical behavior.
Racism as one person said, is a dumb form of collectivism. A very dumb form needed by very dumb people.
Proof racism has increased the city beyond what you claim to see?
See the pro Black movement desperately needs to put out examples of racism, in order to hold it's members together and in order to try and attract new members. Because otherwise Blacks as a whole don't care and the movement shrivels up. Pro Blacks hate it when professional Blacks such as President Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Michelle Obama (lawyer) Colin Powell, Condoleeza Rice, and others succeed because it takes away from their arguments Blacks are endlessly and hopelessly oppressed.
15% of Blacks marry non Blacks these days and that's a pretty high number. So much for Blacks sticking with Blacks all the time.
Not all Black people like each other, lo and behold. Not all Black Americans get along with each other. I judge people on an individual basis, not on a racial basis.
I like someone not because of their race, but because of their character, intelligence, work ethic, etc. I sadly often find these lacking in certain pro Black blacks.
Thank You. If the script were flipped and someone here said "Pro-White" and referred to Blacks as the enemy I'm sure all hell would break loose...

East Harlem is not great in many places so I can certainly understand your wish for gentrification. Most people are priced out of West Harlem, especially the better blocks, that's a shame for you. Must be hard.
I know quite little about the Lower East Side so I could be wrong, but I do not think this is a legitimate comparison. Few people have moved here from downtown that I know, mostly transplants and more affluent people from Europe. Most natives, especially younger, have little interest in living downtown and we are definitely among them - at least right now - but most of the people we know moved to Brooklyn, bought there. The place is never rented so the option to move downtown is there. But Murray Hill or Gramercy are vastly more likely for us and where we are sort of pre-looking-ish.
There was never much "garbage" where I lived downtown. Although I might be too young to have seen a lot of it beyond the bums, who never hurt anyone and whom I would not call garbage. Granted that I am far less free with that designation than you. Like most people who toss these words around freely you are likely afraid of being lumped in - also sad.
Perhaps you knew the writer with the lawsuit. He went to Cornell. Creepy guy, the entitlement and hypocrisy. Maybe I can find a link somewhere. I can ask our friend - a producer.
I shouldn't be so harsh. Maybe he was "priced out" of everywhere and is insane with bitterness, you know. It would make a person desperate for the neighborhood to improve.
