I see that all high schools have the same score (3 vs 6 vs 9-10).
Does it matter which town you live in even though you are living in School Disrtict 26?

Pretty much all the elementary and middle schools are top notch. If you view the daily new failing schools report from last month, you'll notice that as you filter through the passing rates you'll find that the top two zoned elementary schools in NYC are in district 26 and the only two zoned schools to have a >= 90% passing rate on the common core math section. They also happen to be among the top performing zoned elementary schools in the entire New York state as well.

High school is another story. Since the late 90s the high schools have all been un-zoned. Since district 26 is the top feeder district to the specialized high schools, all the kids that didn't make it wind up in the local high schools. However that didn't stop Cardozo from being a top 100 nationally rank high school in the nation in the 90s. What killed the academic performance and the ranking was the influx of failing students from Southeast Queens after the un-zoning. You'll find that the high schools in district 26 probably has more kids skewed towards the opposite ends of the academic spectrum than anywhere else in the country because of this. This skewing results in a rarely seen bimodal distribution of grades. So long as your kid is on the right side of that distribution they'll be alright.
It does matter which town you're in within district 26 since the elementary and middle schools are zoned. You'll need to look up the school that an address is zoned for.
