I heard Melo expresses his dislike of the guy the Knicks drafted which is a joke since he is not even a real franchise player.
I can't understand why Carmelo Anthony would care who is on his team since he just ignores them all anyway. Definitely would take Phil Jackson's opinion over his. A 7 footer that can shoot from the outside, pulling big men out to the perimeter forcing guards and forwards to have to cheat towards the rim, leaving Carmelo with better looks from the outside or take it in if he has the mismatch. What does Melo really want? Another player that he won't give the time of day to show what he can do to play team basketball.
I think people want to see a celebrity packed team. Phil has a lot of knowledge so let's not count him out too fast. The Spurs are not a celebrity packed or extreme popular team but they have like a 15 or so year winning record and 5 championships.
When the Nets lost Jason Kidd they went to hell immediately. They were supposed to be great as Brook Lopez was back - he had been gone the entire prior season. Meanwhile Kidd went to the worst team in the NBA and took them to the playoffs -and beat the Nets 3 out of 4.
The Knicks scapegoated Woodson after a bad year and descended further.
Forget suburban TV sports. So boring to watch and mostly for fat suburban consumers. The real NYC sport is one-wall handball. So much action, so underrated in the collective conciousness. Handball is a activity the holds the ability to elevate your mind, body, and soul to new levels. Games are so intense and anyone has access to play. Rids the body of lassitude and vice - the only way to true freedom. The hidden gift of being an NYC resident.
Things should pick up when the Knicks sign Dwayne Wade and Lebron James in a few weeks.
