Yes...but as this thread was about Dominicans and Washington Heights..it was not addressed. And you will find that alot of those on the Mexican Soaps are not just Mexicans but are all across South America. But that's for another thread....but yes the same applies to Mexico and everyother place.

CIBONEY, difference IMO is how the political elites have viewed European/Whiteness vis a vis blackness or brownness. I can't think (correct me if I'm wrong) of any Dominican political movement that came to power on a platform of negritude whereas the PRI ruled on a platform that was stridently anti-clerical and pro-reconquista. |

This thread has brought the interesting topic of wealth and social disparity based on race, and not merit
I would like to examine this further

Washington Heights' demographics might change in the future, deal with it. You might have to put up with some new white neighbors from Kansas and the rent increases that come along with it, or you can chose to move to the Bronx, as so many Dominicans have done before you.
