Critical but stable condition. Didn't die.

Never understood this way of thinking. I'd much rather someone rot in prison. It's a much worse punishment.

Except they never seem to stay there for life, and it costs way too much anyway. That cop's 4 bullets cost about $.75 each, and that's only because the NYPD actually uses relatively expensive ammo. In my mind, $3.00 already wasted on a savage is far better than multiple hundreds of thousands to protect his rights in jail.

DING DING DING FOLKS WE HAVE WINNER HERE!!!!

This is exactly why I'm disappointed he didn't die.
We don't need people like him roaming the planet. he is a menace to society. why should he walk around and hurt other innocent people?

I don't want my taxpayers supporting him in jail.
I'd rather him die.
Why should the courts and taxpayers waste their time and money on this loser.

How often have we heard criminals getting out of jail only to do what they were originally put in jail for?
Obviously jail isn't working, or jail time isn't enough.

while that is true, they never stay in jail long enough, and we all know this.

and why should my tax dollars feed him.

A better question is why isn't something being done to deal with the mentally unstable in this city? News reports say that this guy suffered from schizophrenia and had not been taking his medication. The guy shouldn't have been walking on the streets to begin with. Seems to be too many cases where people are out on the streets seriously injuring or even killing other people and are not in an institution where they belong.

A black man, but what does he have to do with me like what does jefferey dahmer have to do with you?

You kind of wasted you time making this stupid thread other than to falsely entertain prejudice people like yourself.

I suggest you get off logs tho, because your people are way more violent than the hammer man and you know it.

I swear there is nothing worse than a racist New York yankee. What are you doing living in New York with that attitude?

And what is your solution to these mentally unstable people? Kill them on sight? This seems like the first complaint people make when someone violent is deemed mentally unstable. Do you think there is mark on their foreheads that indicates their future intentions?

How about keep them institutionalized (as this man was) and make sure he is taking his meds (he was not) so that he isn't a danger to himself or anyone else? I suppose your solution is to let these people walk around the city attacking innocent people until they have to be hunted down by the police? That doesn't seem like a plausible solution to me. He's been in and out of mental institutions and in constant run-ins with the law, so obviously he didn't just become a menace overnight now did he?
