The homeless are like pigeons. If you feed them it'll just attract more and they'll turn around and crap on your car

Handouts only increase dependency

The person did a good deed. Isn't that sufficient enough? I have bought food for people of all colors who were in need.

That's because most homeless are really professional panhandlers. if you don't believe me look it up. A lot of them are dropped off in the morning and picked up in the afternoon by the van load to various locations. It has made the truly homeless suffer more then anyone else.

Of course. That was very nice of her to buy a cheeseburger for a black homeless man.

I have been conned a few times by professional panhandlers. But that isn't an excuse to turn a blind eye completely, as many do truly suffer. When I give now I mostly give food. I have had a barefoot old black man on the train yell at me for it, demanding money instead and throwing the sandwich I gave him on the ground. I still try and help as 99% of the true homeless aren't that rude. I later discovered he was a professional. He'd use the ploy of cash only because he "needed to buy shoes" lol. Good hustle I suppose, can't really blame these people when they're making 2-3 times as much as they'd make behind a Micky D's register and it's tax-free.

That guy is frequently on the A train asking for money, usually in the evening. One day a guy gave him a pile of $20 bills - to buy shoes. The next day I was returning home around 9 PM, the same time, and there he was again. Barefoot and asking for money to buy shoes.
