today i took off from work due to severe fatigue. im also malnourished from poor appetite, a result of my cancer treatment. i went shopping to buy a few things. behind the wheel i noticed that i was disoriented and barely recognized where i was despite having driven there hundreds of times before. at the intersection of Bailey Ave and 225th street i had gotten into a fender bender the other motorist said there was nothing more but chipped paint on his car but that my car had serious damage. i looked and a big piece of metaL Was torn upward near the front wheel well

i called allstate and reported it. the agent asked me if me if we exchanged info i told him no because of the gridlocked-like traffic and my unfamiliarity with accidents

what can i expect to happen? my driving record is spotless no history of impaired operation of a MV but did certainly feel impaired. on the street i have bumped into 2 parked cars and almost tripped twice. thank everyone is ok

Often insurance agencies have a "forgiveness" policy if you haven't had an accident before. You should have asked AllState what would happen next. Call them back to ask if you are wondering.

Were you on medication? Being on medication can be considered a DWI so you have to be careful. Once you were behind the wheel and felt disoriented, you should have pulled over.

ALWAYS take the information of the other driver. You should also made a police report. Did you get the license plate of the person at least?

If you are walking around dizzy and bumping into parked cars and almost falling, you should NOT be driving. You are putting other people's lives at risk! We have enough pedestrian accidents as it is. What if you got disoriented just as a child was crossing at an intersection?? Please rethink next time you drive. Paying a few dollars for a cab versus the life of someone else is not really a debate.

we didn't exchange license #s. i think allstate does have a forgiveness policy. its cancer treatment called "ipilimumab" also known as "yervoy". its not "medication " that i take. my nutritionist has been working with me helping me eat (the cancer treatment suppresses the appetite severely. i just put in a call to her. . ur abolutely right about being careful and not driving

they may question whether you should even be allowed behind the wheel at this point and notify dmv to evaluate whether you should have a license..

I wouldn't go into details about your cancer and admitting to reckless driving. You are better just talking about getting in a accident in which was your fault but the other party didn't receive damages worth their time to call police and file a police report. So you agreed to go on your separate ways and call your insurance company when you got home.

In the future, you should avoid driving. I know it must be terrible to have cancer, best of luck in your recovery.
