Which is in fact, 100% supposition and conjecture. There is no scientific evidence whatsoever that trace amounts of pesticides in coffee, strawberries, & greens cause migraine headaches or other health problems.
But nice use of ominous buzz words "fatally", "enormously damaging", "serious", "severe", "chronic" though. The sky is falling, quick, spend 40% more on organic foods most of which use pesticides anyways!!
In fact ? there have been a number of studies and many quite recent. It's always a labor because food production is big business, including the manufacture of pesticides.
Organic growing involves less or non-harmful pesticides, which are usually environmentally better and better for the workers as well.
I've been meaning to head to La Columbe--is there space to do work and hang out for a bit?
Not really. There are a few tables (maybe 5) but you'd have to be lucky to land a seat since it's usually packed. I live around the area and tried it once, but don't see the appeal. But I only tried their hot coffee, maybe their iced coffee is better.

Okay, thanks for the feedback. I'll check out one day, just won't have high hopes or bring a laptop.
Gregory if I am in the financial district (Across from 85 Broad Street, the old Goldman Sachs building)
La Colombe if I am in Soho (On Lafayette Street next to Supreme)
There's also a Gregory's on 31st and and 6th and soon to be one around 29th and 7th. I personally don't like coffee but I see a lot of people with Oslo cups in the morning on the train.
This would be my favorite place. It is in the East Village.
