If you really read and understood the words that were in bold then you would know that what was posted cannot be said in regards to downtown or Hollywood.

Like other places I can't say them all. Some are: Hollywood and Highland in Hollywood and some in downtown are Figueroa, Broadway, some of the numbered streets.

From an outsider. New York by a mile because SD has EARTHQUAKES. Sure SD has a very nice climate but the earthquakes kill it for me. I'd rather shovel snow than get woken up by a 9.0 earthquake I didn't see coming.

obviously there's the expensive issue of car ownership too that is completely unnecessary in nyc. i don't care for culture. i have never been to a nightclub or a bar in my life (i am nearing 40). never been to a strip club. i never saw a theater play either. i did go to a few restaurants (i was stupid and young) where i had to pay about $50 for the dates a few times (the food was pretty good but in no way worth $50). i carry my own food with me or buy dollar pizza or cheap eats like fruits and nuts outside. i just do free stuff and now that we have citibike, it's even better. a metrocard monthly plus citibike = lots of fun free things to do here. mostly though, i just don't like owning a car (i owned a car for exactly one month in brooklyn and was under tremendous stress, always worrying about parking tickets, a cop giving me a moving violation, ppl. keying up the car or stealing parts/it, and of course dying on the belt parkway in a crash - even if you're a safe driver, all you need is one drunk or drugged up guy/girl a la the "2 drunk 2 care" girl in the news a few months back...) and i like cold weather or at least cool (the fall like most ppl.). i also HATE bugs. warm comfy weather brings that bigtime. for a cheap/frugal guy like me, nyc is best. when i am looking to save a few bucks with coupons on food, that all disappears in one single car maintenance issue which you will definitely have. never even mind the loads of scams at these car repair joints.

I am in Yuma, Arizona, and I want to move to new York, possibly , any tips on a inexpensive place to live?

Depends on your price tolerance, and whether you want to rent or own. You could buy a coop next to the Fleetwood Station in Mount Vernon for $80k lol.
