Some relatives are coming into NYC for a weekend trip and want a good quality breakfast at 8:30 AM. The closer to WTC the better since that is the first tourist stop after chow.

I've failed to convince them to eat a yogurt and brunch later in the day.

Open to any suggestions

Turn off the alarm clocks, and hide their phones. They will thank you for the sleep, later!

Shopsin's at 120 Essex St with the world's biggest breakfast menu. But don't come before 9:00 AM and never enter with more than 4 people. See menu link.

I was going to say Noho Star, but they're not open that early on weekends.

Have you looked at the breakfast listings in Zagat? Or maybe any good downtown hotel.

I work in the area and there isn't much open on a Saturday that early. George's is okay as someone recommended, I just haven't had good luck there. There is a small diner by Fulton and Nassau, not sure if they're open weekends though.
