The guy I used to stay with in Bronx was an ass. I wasn't the only one who thought he was and now that I moved ( thankfully I am stable and found a place) I'm in Harlem and the guy I'm with now is chill but he's place is a mess!

I suggest you spend less time posting stupid questions on this forum and work on getting yourself a 2nd job so you can actually have some money.
Clearly you have too much time so mine as well make some money with that free time

I lived with that happy kid in Charlie Brown that they call Pig-Pen. Not literally, but he might as well have been. I think he had some kind of hoarding issue and he also didn't seem to have a sense of smell.

I once accidentally inhaled while walking past his bedroom and almost choked. When the landlady happened to see his room one day because of a leak upstairs, she ordered him to clean it on pain of eviction (fire hazard fears). He relapsed soon enough though. He didn't keep food in there, but just lots of papers, dirty clothes and god knows what else. Couldn't see the floor or the bed. I don't know where he slept.

The only reason I found it tolerable is because he was rarely at home, kept himself and his mess mainly to his own room, was a decent person, kind to my cat, and he always paid his rent on time. I was fine with keeping the fridge and the rest of the apartment clean. He hardly used the shared spaces.

I'd rather be roommates with the chill guy. Hire a maid.

I'd rather have a roommate who treats me and our shared space with respect, instead of saying "I'm a disgusting slob... DEAL WITH IT." You want to be a disgusting slob, go right ahead. Just not in a space you share with someone else who has to be affected by it. When you get your own place, you can practice your own habits. But when you're sharing space, you need to act accordingly.

I hope, D.V., I would always be careful with my roommates and have neither someone dirty or mean.

But, granted, I'm not up on slang, but it's not my impression that "mean" and "chill" are opposites. It's also not my impression that this has anything to do with NYC.

I rather have NO! roommate chill.. 😃.. or mean..😠 ..You need to make more mean greens...💲💲💲.
So you can chill alone in your own room/apt. That's the best way to be solo in your own living space.
At times I wonder if you are the real deal, or a fake snake...👅...HA! remember you only fooling
yourself...😒.
