have an iphone 4s. Battery is really bad now. Phone was bought used last year but battery was pretty good still. Anyone know where in nyc i could get replacement battery and it doesn't cost that much? I did read you could buy it on ebay for $10 and do it yourself and its very easy according to people. However i would prefer someone else to replace it for me as im not tech savy at all. I would prefer manhattan/brooklyn.

Try Dr Brendan on St. Mark's in the East Village, they're great. Look them up on yelp.

I would also check Manhattan iPhone Repair on W35th, near Penn Station. I recall that the service was pretty quick on my cousin's iPhone that she broke, and we had to fix before she was getting on a plane to go to LA. That was for a screen, though, I would not expect a battery to take too much longer.

There's a service where the guy comes to you, something like iPod Doctor or something like that -- a friend mentioned it in passing, and I believe the proprietor is on Yelp. The price may be a bit more expensive, but the repairs are done on-site at many hours during the day. I believe that was a screen, though, and am not sure if they also take care of batteries.

I checked their website, and Manhattan iPhone can repair the battery in 10-15 minutes for $40 with 6 month warranty, a pretty good deal, considering the OEM battery kit with tools can be $15-$20 on Amazon, and would take a one much longer than that of a pro who does many per day.

If you are not in a hurry , eBay is cheaper

U can send your phone to seller via eBay

They will fix it for you

You will get your phone in about a week or so

It depends where the seller is located

But u have to choose priority mail though for quickest delivery, not first class mail

The thing is im not a do it yourself person and will probably do something wrong.

So i would prefer to go to a place and have my iphone 4s battery replaced. But does anyone know which place cost the least? I figure since this is a very simple task for most... thus its not broken screen or stuff like that, i guess the absolute minimum would probably be $35?

I can go anywhere in brooklyn and manhattan.

Buy the kit.

If not, figure the labor to be around $100.
