It's really a lifestyle thing. I for one don't care if my complex has parties nor do I want to be 4 miles from a city. I don't like space either, in DC I've gotten the opposite of claustrophobia in some parts. I also really don't do well in suburbia. I also find Maryland too hot in the summer. It's also newer architecture whereas I adore pre-war.
Just giving my preferences as an example of why 'I' wouldn't want to live there.
The population difference between NYC and DC is the same as DC to Findlay, OH.
NYC : DC = DC : Findlay OH
Good try Gantz, but OP might not get that idea for the same reason they removed analogy questions from the SAT verbal exams some years ago. Brain breakers, apparently. Just too hard for the people.
