Persian gulf is 1990-TBD. Maybe you would qualify under that, but as awol said it would be best to call.
Just spoke to a few people from previous two tests. All got veterans credit and none have fought in those 4 wars. None of them had ever seen that letter (though it is now in dcas' website) but every single one of them has a story about taking whatever a dd 214 is down there and fighting to get the credit

So we have to fight for a credit that in theory should be automatic? Ughh

The attached DSNY requirements to claim "Veterans "Credit" do not include the majority Veteran who served in recent Wartime environments. Operation Iraqi Freedom etc.. do not count as being in a "time of war". So if you have family/friends who dies during our recent Operations after 9/11 simply "do not count"
Now if you look at the dates of these wartime periods that qualify, you will notice that you have to be elderly or too damn old to be applying for a physical sanitation worker job.
The way they make it is no one can be qualified for "Veterans Credit" unless your too old or broken to apply.
Any one here qualify for Veterans Credit according to the attachments?
This should be illegal, especially with the Mayor and other elected official vowing to improve our treatment of veterans.
Disabled Veterans don't even qualify for credit according to this because you didn't serve in the 50's.
This has got to be wrong.
Yea I rated veterans credit. Send in your DD-214 have u been over seas?

I'm still asking but many seem to have had issues where things said Asia and not Iraq specifically
Either way I now have 3 confirmed army guys who served in Afghanistan who got their points so they better give you the points. They all said they just brought the dd214 8 and 1/2 by 13 and it better say honorable discharge on the bottom. And they said if points are refused to start calling people
