hey guys i called up about the tier 6 and it is true because if you in tier 4 and get hired now you are stuck in dsny tier 22 plan its make sense this quotes from the nycers website
This brochure describes the obligations and benefits of the Uni
-
formed Sanitation Force 22-Year Plan (SA-22). This plan allows
participants to retire for service after rendering at least 22 years
of Credited Service, regardless of age.
remember it said credited service here is another quote
SA-22 Plan participants may retire for service after completing
at least 22 years of Credited Service, regardless of age.
In general, Credited Service is service rendered while a NYCERS
member, previous public service or military service that was
purchased, and service transferred from another public retirement
system in New York City or New York State.
AND IT MAKE SENSE BECAUSE NOW DSNY TIER 6 YOU DONT GET ANY MORE SERVICE CREDIT AFTER DOING MORE THEN 22 YEARS SO GETTING BACK TO WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING IT GOES ON THE BACKEND SO IF YOU WORK SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR 1O IN NYC OR NYS IT NOT GOING COUNT THAT BEING SAID HE IT HAS TO COUNT UP FRONT BECUASE YOU DONT GET ANY CREDIT AFTER 22 YEARS
I don't think that many people got medically DQ. I think it went up to 500 because a lot of people are still taking or are in the process to take the DSNY training class for CDL...but like i said before who knows! It is hard to figure out what list numbers are taking the CDL training classes right now.
Don't know what list numbers are taking the cdl classes now, but I'm due to start taking the dsny classes next week and I'm in the #950-1000 range....
First round of hiring off a list goes quick. A lot of people aren't ready yet. No CDL etc. you'll find. That as more classes go in. The ratio goes way down of people hired to actual list number. My list number was in the low 700's on a previous list and I was in the 5th class hired. And I had everything ready to go. Don't bank on a list moving quick just because it starts out fast. It's gonna bog down soon. It may speed up again once they do a new round of pre-orientation. And a new batch of unprepared are now in the mix
Just spoke with HR, they said that they pass over my number because I didn't get my CDL in time for this class. That once the next class in August gets calls, they going to go back down the list again so I should be called. No biggie. I tried explaining to them that I notify HR when I got my license but appranantly they didn't notate it to my file so when they was calling, they just Skipp me.
But she said that she would look into it with her supervisor, and see, best case scenario somebody drop out of this July class or if the supervisor say to take somebody that schedule for the class out with a lower list number and make space. There a few people in this predicament and they are aware. Smh. Fingers crossed
