This place hasn't even been there for long. Use to be a bar.

And this was just last week. Out of a mom and pop pharmacy with locations in Ridgewood and Greenpoint.

Hey @Bronx what's up with your precinct this year man? I took a look at the 40th and it seems to have seen a significant crime increase across the board... Are the locals simply targeting the newcomers or do you feel like its taken a step back this year?

The 40 has been in the news alot lately. I don't know what gives, or give a damn. As long as I'm not a victim or frisked by police, than I'm good. Not on in Mott haven but in any hood I visit. But I did notice less Cops standing on corners this year compared to last year at certain times of the day. I can say policing has taken. taken step back, and folks are more brazen about committing .

Gentrification brings more crime like this. We see less muggings these days because muggers know that most people carry smartphones and credit cards not worth going after when they can hold up pharmacies for pills that sells for tons of cash on the open market. Lots of transplants are pill and heroin users. Criminals know that robbing a bank comes with mandatory federal sentences if caught but robbing a deli or pharmacy is still a minor crime that they will be let out in just a 1-2 days.

Ha ha ha. I thought I'd see it all in terms of the anti-transplant hate on this board. But to pretend you know which where the criminals who rob pharmacies for pills were born is so ridiculous all I can do is laugh.

Just a hunch, but my guess is that the robbers were previously being supplied by the nearby pharmacy that was raided just last week as being the biggest supplier of oxy-whatever in the city. They were supplying pills to as far away as Staten Island.
