Hello

I recently started to write a book and after many ups and downs I decided that the story is set in New York. I originally planned Berlin but I just noticed that this city is not suitable and authentic enough.
I would be delighted if someone could stand by me and provide me with information about the urban life whenever I have questions. I'd just like to do it very realistic. Reading through guides is informative but still not giving me the exact information of lifestyle there since I need specific information.
Thanks

If you don't have deep and authentic knowledge of your setting, it will come off as phony. Getting details from random strangers on a bulletin board isn't going to cut it. Sorry.

The best way to make something authentic is to write about something you know do if you are not from New York you are already not authentic simply because it is not your city.

Berlin, a city dating back to the 1200s, isn't authentic enough? What makes a city authentic?
