For example, there's a place in Cape May called "Bath Time" that has a wall of essential oils and they'll mix to your specifications. And there used to be a place years ago called Garden Botanica that did the same thing. A friend told me that in NYC years ago there was a place with walls of essential oils that would mix perfume for you just like these places. Are there any places like this left in NYC that anyone can recommend?
I saw a similar place while walking in East Harlem, either on East 106th or East 116...not sure but it was a block or two East of Third Ave. (I know, not very helpful.)
I mix my own "Chap-Sticks, and refill 2 dozen at a time, I'm addicted, so I wanted a pleasant oil, perhaps clove or peppermint and I asked if they were all "oils" and he said all were water based, so I lost interest.
How do you know what to ask them to mix?

My suggestion would be to Contact International Flavors and Fragrances, which is headquartered in NYC. They may be able to answer your question. See link.
I buy my own essential oils online. I have a bunch of them and use them from everything to make house cleaners to beauty products.
