Isn't the standard usually that any governmental body only votes for an increase for the NEXT batch, not for themselves?

Geez, for $148K, I think I might toss my hat in the ring:
"Friends, Romans, and Countrymen, lend me your ears."

What is that, 1 day a week work?

When the public abdicates its responsibility of keeping its government in check, what do you expect them to do?

This is such a complete outrage. I don't think these sh|t for brains morons understand how much their constituents make and get by on. They would be jumping for joy at getting what the councilmorons are being paid TODAY and now they want a 32% raise. Let's not forget these people do almost nothing and show up to work maybe 2 days a week and spend the remaining time jerking off

Of course they know how much their constituents make and get by on. It's more likely they simply don't CARE.

Top government officials make lots of money, and that's news to no one.
