I'm curious about this talk of Asian gang violence. I visit Flushing pretty often but have never lived there. From my visits, I haven't noticed much of a presence so I'm curious about all this.
They are hard to spot. It's not like bloods or crips when they have a red or blue bandana on or something
A couple weeks ago there was a competition for a parking spot between and a chinese and a hispanic in downtown flushing. After the chinese won the spot and parked and walked out of his car, the hispanic attacked him from behind and threw him on the ground. the chinese guy got up and shot the hispanic in the arm...
almost another GZ accident had he not missed the chest.
Flushing is my hometown. It has a LARGE Asian population in the downtown area (I hear it is bigger than Manhattan's and I'm sure it is). But is it home to all walks of life. Flushing is a very large area of Queens. And the urban heart of Queens, only behind Jamaica. Some parts of Flushing is what you will call bad. (If you go a little bit down Main St. pass Sanford Ave., that area is a little sketchy). Some areas is nice (getting passed Northen Blvd and heading towards Bayside and Whitestone). Flushing is home to Shea Statium (home of the NY Mets) and is going to be home of Citi Field. Also, it is home to Flushing-Meadows Corona Park (or Flushing Meadows for short) Which is home to the Queens Museam of Art. Also, Queens unoffical symbol.... The Unisphere!
Well, its also home to one of the four tennis championships. It's totally a polluted China (well Eastern and Southern Asia combined). AND IT'S ABSOLUTELY NOT BIGGER THAN MANHATTAN!

He didn't say "it's bigger than Manhattan," he said "bigger than Manhattan's" referring to Manhattan's Chinatown
It depends on what he wants to do. I would say dining along Northern Blvd. is good but this is mostly Korean/Korean BBQ. There are also a number of coffee shops that have sprouted there.
