Looks like Corcoran has decided to mash Windsor Terrace, Victorian Flatbush and Kensington/Ditmas Park into another one of these ridiculous names. "WiViKen"...just rolls off the tongue, doesn't it?

With the exception of Soho or Dumbo, does anyone actually use these dumb names?

Sounds incredibly stupid.

Also, I never knew Victorian Flatbush even existed. You learn something new everyday.

I wonder if those names were "accepted" when theybwere created

Even though I don't really accept NoLita to br a real neighborhood, at least it sounds nice, WiViKen sounds awful

Sounds like the location of a witches' coven.

That means that the neighborhood has at least ONE brownstone.

Actually, it means that the real estate agents TELL people that ."....this apartment is on the edge of the historic district...." that is always "...just over there....."

It is not about brownstones.

This part of Flatbush has large Victorian houses, very historic.

Incorrect. The neighborhood is well known for large and beautiful Victorian houses. These are not brownstones.

Corcoran has a new marketing strategy it seems...in the past month I've received two similar types of booklet style mailers announcing recent sales of brownstones and condos in my neighborhood. Looks like they have designed ones for each neighborhood they are targeting.

Correction: my mailer was from DouglasEllimam so a few agencies are doing this now
