I love the idea of a limo, but I still hope to find a less costly trip. If anyone else has made plans to travel between Newburgh and NYC, please let me know how you traveled.

Thanks again, CCREECH.

Don't let the name fool you! It IS a limo service, however, I requested a quote and received it back within hours...one way service was about $185 which may sound a little steep, but consider this:

Round trip airfare during my travel times costs a little over $450 for my wife and I from RDU to LGA. PLUS the $50 cab fare to Times Square. The limo rate includes tip AND tolls....AND ITS A LIMO! What better way to see Times Square?!?!??!
right, people who are flying into stewart to save 20 bucks for their ticket are going to spring for a limo, HAHAHAHAHA

No, actually for two coming in on a $10 fare, ccreech saves more than half.
20 + 185 = 215 (plus tip for limo)
vs.
450 + 50 =500 (plus tip for cab)

Could have saved more by taking a blue van or airport bus instead of cab, more yet (from LGA) by taking the #M60 bus (@ $2.00) into Manhattan to 106th & Bwy, but the supercheap fare into Stewart still costs less.

Default Inexpensive hotel north of Times Square close to subway???

I am also flying in through Skybus in June for a 4 day weekend/weekday trip with my step daughter from Columbus, OH. We're coming in to shop and see some plays!! I know the subway system fairly well (once I'm in the city) but am clueless about how to get to the city from Stewart...so this website and your directions have really helped me a lot!! Now...next question is I don't want to pay the $200+ per night to stay in Manhatten and have been trying to search for a hotel somewhere along the train/subway from Stewart Airport to Midtown. I don't mind traveling each day a little ways (20 minutes or so) via subway to get back to my hotel. Does anyone have a suggestion of a safe/clean hotel outside of Times Square are, yet in walking distance to the subway that won't cost me an arm and a leg!!!!

Thanks for looking out for me Carbro!!

Sorry, Skusame, but I have no clue how to help you. Hell, my wife and I are having enough trouble trying to find somewhere around Times Square to stay for less than $250!! Certainly try hotels.com, if for no other reason, it's very informational in regards to landmarks, locations, dining, etc.

Good Luck!

Thanks Ccreech....I have been all over the internet searching for hotels under $150 NEAR downtown Manhattan and it's just not happening unless I want to share a bathroom (which at my age is impossible since I get up all hours of the night to....well you get my drift) or if I want to stay in something that is so small and dirty (which is another thing at my age I just can't do). Anyhow, it looks like I'm probably going to stay in Jersey or Astoria and just take the subway in every day. I never realized it was so expensive in JUNE. I've never had to pay these prizes but I've always come at non prime time (I guess).
