no.....the Q10 bus and the Q37 bus. the Q37 can get you to the E and F at union turnpike, or it can get you to the A at 111th street. the Q10 can get you to the E & F at union tpke, the A at lefferts blvd, and JFK.

Is this a pain in the ass for a daily commute to manhattan. I believe my friend is looking at Kew gardens right now.

Thanks

I grew up in Kew Gardens, behind the Courthouse (by Molloy). It was an easy walk to Forest Hills. Spent my teenage weekends in Forest hills. I loved the area. But that was the 80's and I haven't been back since.

Kew Gardens ends just before Jamaica Ave. From Jamaica Ave toward Atlantic Ave. is Richmond Hill. There is no official North Richmond Hill. The northern part of Richmond Hill is the part that borders Kew Gardens, around Jamaica Ave. The houses on the side street are small, but decently maintained on the RH side and large and beautiful on the KG side.

Jamaica Ave. is not the greatest area, but it's not the worst either. This is where the elevated J and Z trains run. There have been some problems with occasional violence between young Guyanese Indian men, e.g., drunken fighting emerging from a few night clubs on Jamaica Ave. However, this is rare and only happens at night.

Like anywhere else in NYC, you just have to keep your wits about you. I am a woman and I feel completely safe there.

It's easy to take a bus [or just walk] to a train station on Queens Boulevard from there. I highly advise you to avoid the A and the J. Both are alot slower to Manhattan and also more dangerous.

i feel that north richmond hill is a lovely neighborhood, close tothe E/F/J/A trains. Its relatively safe and quiet. South Richmond Hill, although rich in diversity, can be noisy at times. Richmond Hill is a safe area and would be a lovely place to live for your friend. I have been residing in this neighborhood for 14 years and practically grew up here.

Diversity? I thought it was all Guyanese Indians? Lots of chutney music being played in that neighborhood.
