Man fatally stabbed at his engagement party. A fight broke out, And it sounds like the groom to be friends were acting up. But for someone young and just engaged to die like this? Awful. I feel for the fiancee. Seems like a restaurant staff member is a suspect. They couldn't just throw a few punches around and call it a day?

Things often get ugly when too much alcohol has been consumed.

Definitely tragic, but it seems like they were asking for trouble. Fights are all too common here, and one of the reasons I only frequent particular places.

Making it even worse, I read something that said the incident was triggered by the victim's brothers.

The young man's brothers were fighting with the manager and another staff member, And reportedly he tried to break it up. Regardless of who may have started it, To end with this guy on his engagement party day dying in his fiancee's and brothers arms on the street is just horrible. Being stabbed with a butcher knife and bleeding out is an awful way to die to boot.

This is eerily similar to The Bronx teenager who was stabbed to death on his graduation day last year because of his father's stupidity.

It is. Unfortunately, you can't pick family.

The murder squad (NYPD) lit Sean Bell up with 50 bullets in the same event of a night.

Lot's of stories flying around. The NY post has had 3 diffrent accounts of what happened. The latest one is that the person who started the altercation was a friend of the victim & just so happens to be a PA officer & not a brother.

I've been to Espana a couple of times. Things tend to get a little rowdy there after hours when it turns into more of a club. It can be way to much to deal with sometimes that's why I stopped going there.

I'm really not surprised that somthing like this happened at Espana. That entire area has been getting rather rowdy lately. The Anadale diner which is located a few stores down from Espana is a source of problems lately. It amazes me how places that are supposed to be safe & have a good reputaion like a 4 star resturant & local diner can have such violent isues, yet a local dive bar nestled inbetween both places like the Curly Wolf never has an issue.

I think the root of these Problems start with ownership & work there way down though management.

No matter what the spark was that started this there is no possible justification for pulling out a butcher knife & shanking an unarmed man who was onky trying to break up the fight.
