Hi. I'm planning to move to NYC this summer and i'm trying to find some churches there to attend. I'm looking for a relatively open-minded congregation with a lot of young adults. Do you guys know any that fits the bill? I'm 26 and i've only recently started learning about Christianity. You could say that i'm a spiritual baby and i'd like to learn about the faith more to see if it's really for me. However some aspects of more conservative churches kind of bother me and i'd like to go someplace that accepts people for who they are. Any help would be great. Thanks!

As a nice Jewish gal, I can't offer much expertise. However, you probably have a wide variety of choices, but before people offer suggestions, they'll need to know what neighborhood are you moving to, and what denominations interest you.

It might help to know what neighbourhood(s) you are interested in or where you intend to live, but, overall I'd say you have many choices in Manhattan, and probably quite a few in the other boroughs.

Several of the West Village churches are geared to young people, and several in the Chelsea area that I am familiar with. And if you like pomp, you have some beautiful Catholic and Episcopal choices in mid-town and uptown.

Brooklyn Tabernacle is cool as well. There's also a big Christian Church in Times Square. Can't remember the name.

Hmm well i'm not sure what neighborhood yet but it's not Manhattan for sure. Most likely it'll be Queens, Brooklyn or SI. What does CCC stand for by the way?

As far as denomination goes, i'm not too picky although non-denominational would probably suit me best i'd imagine.

Christian Cultural Center- BK's mega church. Pastor Bernard is my dog.

There's a sister congregation in Queens somewhere. It may be on Woodhaven Blvd somewhere.

With all the sinning and stuff I forget.

It's called Time Square Church. Great church with lots of diversity and appeal for all ages.
