Second thought:
Contact your city councilperson and have him/her call HPD on your behaf.
These City bureaucrats listen up when a councilman gets involved.

Okay guys.. Thanks for your input.. Let me give you all an update.. I'm in the middle of an appeal and still waiting.. I also got in contact with the president of the development and the Housing President of that unit via Email.. I got a quick responses and they said they would look into it.. I won't hold my breath and think something is going to change.. I believe with all my heart I lost this battle.. At this point I just wanted them to know what happened to me was unfair and it shouldn't happen to anyone else.. They shouldn't have shown me a unit and told me it's mine, unless my paper work went through with H.P.D first.. I would keep you guys updated with this stressful situation.. Thanks guys..

There is also an email address I can use.. Do you think this is suitable? Also, Should I wait til the Appeal is finished?

Middle class funds both forms of welfare.

We are almost there folks.

Section 8?

Section 8 is closed for applications since 2009 !!! In NYC.

Are you more beautiful than the girl who said you could have the apartment? She's a hater.

It can't hurt asking for HPD's calculation of your income.

I was reading the guidelines again the other day, and you are supposed to receive specifics on how far over you are, not just a general "you are over income."

Best of luck!

Thank you for the information.. The rejection letter states "applicant is over income".. when I asked the interviewer who she calculated my income she said " I can't give you that information"..

If you google HPD Marketing Guidelines, the first link will have the PDFs for you to download. A wealth of information is in there.
