I thought the Second Vatican Council got rid of the Latin Mass entirely, some 50 years ago?

Pope Benedict gave full permission to use the Latin mass in 2007.

Benedict was a very reasonable Pope. There is nothing Nazi like about the Latin mass. It was the norm for hundreds of years before Hitler was born.

The Latin Mass done properly is one of the most beautiful and deeply spiritual experiences.

Kefir I know you hate all things about Christianity, you are after all the highest ranking swinging homosexual on this board, but sometimes it's best if you just don't comment. Nobody is bothering you, you and your partner are free to practice all the depravity you want. Some common courtesy is warranted...

Pope Benedict was a member of Hitler Youth and was an extreme reactionary. Common courtesy does not exclude truth.

Blaming someone for being a child in the country of their birth under a totalitarian government is very strange but I guess that's all you have.

I encourage you to actually be educated about Catholicism. I will not judge you based on these comments, because I know you don't actually know very much about this topic.

Anyway, I did go to St. Michael's on w 34 this morning and really enjoyed it. The liturgry is great and it is what I was looking for! Very well done, enjoyed the priest's sermon. Thank you Samyn on the green for the recommendation!

My pleasure. Father Rutler is an extraordinary ordinary.

No, there is no denominations of the Church. There are seven different rites of the Catholic Church which recognize a different liturgical tradition. These rites date back to the early Church and are the descendants of the liturgical practices that originated in Rome, Antioch (Syria), and Alexandria (Egypt). Here are the various rites:
  1. Latin
  2. Byzantine
  3. Alexandrian
  4. Syriac
  5. Armenian
  6. Maronite
  7. Chaldean
  8. Syro-Malabar
