Tax Return Refund

Someone stole your paper check. That happened to my wife and I about 15 years ago. It was replaced after a phone call to the IRS.

I did all my filing online and got my federal refund in short order through direct deposit. However, I had to make an amendment (a 1098-T for a college course that I took showed up in the mail after the electronic submission) that actually caused me to get more money back from the state and city. Of course, the amended returns had to be hard copies, but I could just print them out from any computer and mail them in.
