It's not only that these apartments are so small, 260-360 square feet - what's outrageous to me is that they can cost $3,000 a month!

260 square feet is more than enough for one person, I definitely could do it and have before. However these prices are ridiculous making these units nothing more than snob pods.

I did, once for about a year. I was single, traveled a lot, and I lived in a 450 s/ft studio. I had sort of a come and go life style at the time, and I loved my little studio. Murphy bed and all.

Could never deal with a micro.I'm a space hog. I am single and have a 950 sq ft apartment and had to buy a separate 450 sq ft studio apartment in my building to use a work area.Lots of space for little money is one of the reasons I had to buy in The Bronx.

450 sq feet is NOT a micro apartment. That is a LARGE studio apartment.

I lived in a studio about that size too. It was somewhere between 250-275 sq feet. Never did find out the exact size. I didn't mind, It worked for me. The price was what made me leave it and now these new places are way more. Although I guess you could factor it its fully furnished and all you need is your belongings. But still too rich for my blood.

It would have to be in a really good location where I'm always out and hardly staying home.

I lived in Tudor City for three years and liked it. But my rent was reasonable and the location was great. Still, I think anyone would get cabin fever after a while in such a small space.

People in 2016 no longer get "cabin fever". I am certain most people under 30 can live in 2'x3' pods and be totally fine as long as they are digitally connected. It's creepy to think, but it seems quite possible, and probably our future!
