Hello Everyone - I got the summons to be a juror in Queens County again. I got a medical exemption the first time because I was sick. True story. Got a doctor's note and everything. I need to postpone again (I have a huge work project i'm finishing up and this couldn't have come at a worse time), though. I can't do it on the website cause i already postponed once, so is it worth calling? or do I need to just send in my summons? Anyone have any luck postponing twice?
Truth be told i'm perfectly happy performing my civic duty...
I was able to postpone twice - once was because I had a final and the second was because my daughter was a newborn. Apparently when you have a kid they can take you off the list for 4-5 years if you're the primary caregiver or something like that? Worked for me.
I postponed once in Brooklyn by mail. When I got called again, I went in and sat in a room for an hour or two playing with my phone while they called other people. Then they gave me a slip of paper and told me I was done and good for at least five years. I've heard the first postponement is easy, the second one very difficult.
