I chopped my Mastiff up into 5 smaller pieces and I still wasn't able to find anywhere that would let me move in with him, so I wouldn't count on it.

Look for a single family home with a small yard somewhere in Queens. Offer to pay the LL more than what he is asking for rent. Or better yet, stay in Florida.

Queens is definitely an option. Staying here in FL is not too appealing because this job market is horrific.
