They seem to be touting the "turning green" aspect as a plus--as part of the plan to have it blend more naturally into its setting, and I think they're playing on the idea of the building changing with its environment over time. It might even look better green. The building is ugly, mainly because of what's under it (an unattractive, boring red-brick structure that doesn't mesh with these curving towers). But facilities look wonderful, and truthfully, most of these new high rises are ugly. There's an even uglier one with a lottery a few blocks away on E. 39th St. And as someone else pointed out, if you're in the building, you don't see its exterior. I went by last week, and it does look as if it will meet its December 2016 completion date. Good luck to all who entered the lottery, which closes in a few weeks.
Just asking, and I know there's not a definitive answer, but if you have CB preference, what would be the largest number you could have and still have a chance? There are 160 units, which, comparatively speaking, is a lot.

Depends on the CB. Community Board 6 in Manhattan is one of the wealthiest areas in the country. There are not a lot of people making that little money in CB6. I'd say you have a good chance regardless of log number, provided, however, that they haven't started with the "up to 50% of CB preference units may be filled by homeless referrals" for this lottery.
