Is it illegal to panhandle in NYC? If so is it all over the city or just in certain parts? I mean if I went to Central Park or Penn Station and panhandled for money would I be arrested? What would happen to me? What advice would you give? Thanks

First off I love your screen name. Second really? That ****ing sucks. NYC is nothing but a police state. How anyone in their right mind is cool with living there is beyond me.

I know it's crazy right. People who actually have jobs and earn their money should be legally allowed to be harassed by some lazy scumbag who can't get their life together.
I'll give food but not money. I don't want my paycheck going up someone's veins. Personally, NYC is not Alabama, we have a very robust social safety net here why should anyone be begging?
It is not legal but it is also not being enforced kind of like jaywalking. There has been no political to solve panhandling issues since Gulliani and it has gotten even worse since De Blasio.

Panhandling is not illegal in NYC but there are some limitations, for example in the subway system.
Yeah, no more than 2 panhandlers per car.
