Default Heat in NYC
Does anyone know if it is legal for a landlord of a 2 family house to ask the tenant to pay their own heat, i.e., put the heating account into the tenant's name? If legal, is it advisable for a tenant to do this? Thank you.

Yes, once your lease starts or renews. I doubt they could do this mid-lease.
