Everything at the NYC Building Dept. is public record.

My coworker just closed on a condo at SOHA at 118 street in harlem. It took her less than 2 months to move in. It was also new construction. Procida is jerking us around. Some people went in contract back in march 2007 including me. We are slowly moving towards 2009. Its july

We should all be given a discounts by Procida. How do they want us to give referrals to friends and family to buy into the building. Went we don't even have a closing date. They need to give us all coupons to Circuit City for $2000.00 for all the BS they put us through. They also need to pay my rent and the increase on my new lease. lol

PS. i still love the Bronx. This will make me wiser to better direct a friend or family member in their home buying process. I'm trying really hard not to let Procida rain on my day. But the clouds are over me, I'm starting to feel drops. lol

I've been warned that these types of delays are common with new developments, but that doesn't make it any easier to go through, I'll try to focus on the positives, and try to save as much money as possible before my closing date

You can definitely look into concessions from the seller. I've heard that it's standard to be let out a contract if you don't have a C of O one year after you've gone into contract, but I don't know if that is true.
I have friends who had to wait 10 months after the promised move in date to get into their new condo.

Who told you that, Beth. lol. They told me back when i signed my contract in march 2007, they told me we would be closing in April 2008. Lets see April, May, June, July. Thats four months. The last letter they sent to us was in April. I think there's something truly wrong with that. Why is everyone calling Beth they should be calling us. We are the home buyers. If they have fines to take care of with the Dept. of Building, they need to pay all fines and workout all Violation. They know what they need to do. Sure there's red tape with the Building Dept. But I'm sure the Building Dept. told Procida what they needed to do to move this along. Sure new construction runs a little over schedule. That's not the problem, the problem is we need to be told what the heck is going on.
Lol. You may have enough save to buy your second home before we close. lol

Yes these delays are common with new construction. A friend of mine (a Teacher) purchased one of the new 2 family city-subsidized homes in Mott Haven by the Jackson Avenue 2/5 train station and he was hoping to be in by December 07, it is now July 08 and he is still not in...with no end in sight. You guys are not alone! Hang in there..it will be well worth it in the end!!!
