Hi All,

I've been reading through the various threads and my head is beginning to swim. We have 2 kids, my husband works in midtown. We're looking to buy our first home. So we're looking for towns with great schools and train rides approx 1 hr or less into Grand Central Station. That's not door to door - just the train ride needs to be 1 hr or less. Buses aren't an option since my husband gets motion sickness. Budget is approx $600K. Please help!

Thanks.

You could find something in the Pemberwick section of Greenwich. Low taxes, decent schools, and under an hour on the train.

Chappaqua, and Scarsdale come immediately to mind. I'm sure there are others.

Also, if you'd look at the LIRR also, Great Neck and Jericho out on LI are known for very good public schools.

Not for 600k and the taxes that come with that.

Any school district that's not in the hood should be good enough
