There is already a thread about this, but either way I read that weeks ago and it was just attributed to its higher taxes and longer commutes. That doesn't necessarily make it "miserable" to me, but that's just my opinion.

hey Williboy, I see your location is Telford Tennesee, a place I've never even heard of. Yet you are here visiting us in our NYC forum to show us how miserable we must be?? Hmmm I do think you must be green with envy, otherwise, why bother to waste your time making this post?

Just another NYC wannabe.

Yes, I agree. If one of the criteria is traffic congestion...the answer to that is most New Yorkers travel by the subway. We can get everywhere in the city typically around 10 mins. Cost of living another criteria...well, you want the best you are going to pay. Middle class in New York are doctors, lawyers...we don't live in our homes. Our playground is outside!

Having lived in NY all my life and working in Manhattan for about 35 of them I can agree with that. I hate NY and when retirement comes in about 2 years I'm out!
That said, it's a facinating place to visit but living here sucks.

It would only be fair if the OP posted all the other locations in their respective forums. Only posted Charlotte so far.

Actually, I hope he leaves the other 8 alone. why bother doing this - posting any at all? I shouldn't even be responding.
