I prefer studios because they seem larger to me than one bedroom apartments. And more spacious. And cheaper.

And if you're an older person, there's less room to fall down in. Honestly, they're safer.

I think it depends on one's needs. If one wants to host out-of-town relatives for a few nights occasionally, a one bedroom apt. is preferable to a studio even for a single person.

Definitely 1-bedroom .

I do not like to eat where I sleep, to have everything in one room, and only one door in the apartment, to the bathroom, appears always a bit messy and cluttered. The bed would have always to be "done." But with me it is anyways, even if there is a bedroom.

So, for me a 1-bedroom apartment it is, although, yes, they are more expensive, but usually also roomier.

If the size and cost are the same I would take a 1br. But the cost is never the same, so I will stick with my studio.

I've always preferred studios for price, convenience, and they are easier to clean. But I don't entertain (parties, visitors), so take that into consideration.
