That's weird. The last time it sold was last month for $290K. Then a month later they turn around and put it on the market for $299K? Obviously they would lose money doing this as it's not enough for a flip situation. So...I guess that means something is seriously wrong with it? Anyway it doesn't bode well.

Also the last time it sold before that was 2010 when it sold for $382K so it seems like it's been losing money ever since. The only person who made $$ was the flipper who bought in 2010 for $215K and sold a few months later for $382K.

I've been looking around myself. I found a rental at Parkchester to be reasonable and the community lovely.

Property has a long and convoluted history which involves an elderly (>90) year old woman and possible foreclosure and perhaps even deed fraud or theft from the older lady thrown into the mix.

The area is not that bad. Solid middle to working class mostly persons from the Islands or of that descent. Looking at Google Street view people seem to keep up their properties nice. Public schools aren't that great however, but other than that...

Even though it's in a bad neighborhood, it's a steal - if there are no tenants.

Glue on some brown cement blocks on one side and you can almost call it a brownstone.
