Is there anyone at child services that does their job? This makes what? The third or more child that has died in the past few months even after ACS was notified/involved.

Horrible story all around, I question if the mother is getting in trouble. She must have known, there was another article on a local blog (I used to live on this exact block and only a few blocks away now) that said neighbors heard things like potential hitting etc.

"They were always fighting, the man and the woman who lived there. I never saw the child. Never saw him. I didnít realize they had a child until I heard him crying."

ACS is overwhelmed and understaffed---they aren't paid enough to deal with that stuff. And how is it their fault that someone gave them the wrong address?

ACS has a lot of problems, but I wouldn't put all of the blame on them ATM given what we've been told thus far.

The other thing is how many kids has ACS saved?

It's easy to put in the news a couple of high profile failures that ACS definitely should learn from. But that doesn't mean that ACS intervention hasn't helped or SAVED a lot of kids as well.
