What's the best ski near New York? I've done Catamount alot which is good, but basic. I've never done poconos heard its for the newbs. Any good skiiers got any suggestions for good weekend skiing this winter? I want to do some good glades and black diamonds.

Hunter Mountain is decent for a weekend getaway.
Mount Creek is good for a day trip.

Hunter is the only close by mtn with any real vertical. Super crowded on weekends, but there are certain advanced lifts (Hunter West) that are less crowded since the mob tends to crowd around the main lift.

I learned to snowboard at Mt Creek in early 90s, was called Vernon Mt back then. But it's a ridiculoulsy overpriced supercrowded glorified bunny hill, that seems to attract the biggest ahole douchebags from the metro nyc area.

Don't waste your time with these sucky NY or PA mountains. Mt Snow is just a little further than Hunter and is a much better mountain. Stratton is a little further and a bit higher peak.

For some GOOD Ski, look no further: New York’s hottest club is Crease. Club promoter Tranny Oakley has gone all out, and inside it’s just everything: lights, psychos, Furbies, screaming babies in Mozart wigs, sunburnt drifters with soapsuds beards…It’s that thing where a hobo becomes a rich man, so they take the big bubble bath.

oh you meant SNOW snow! bah

Belleayre's improved a lot since ORDA took over. In addition, it's close to Woodstock...That said, Hunter is #1 in the area, Windham a distant second. Base is okay, and they're expecting some natural stuff by the end of this weekend...
