This is in reply to that absurd thread where one stated only Manhattan is New York City. The entire metro is filled with charm and character that defines the New York culture. Manhattan is a huge chunck of it, yes. But if Palm Springs and Santa Barbara are considered "LA", then i'm sure anything within a 100 mile radius of NYC is connected as one.

That thread was kind of absurd. Some random dude from the other side of the continent that has never been here, trying to redefine our city borders. I wonder if he realizes this stuff is not a matter of opinion or up for debate. And even if it were, why would someone from thousands of miles away have a say?

The worst part is that thread went on for way too long.

I was confused about it OP. I was told by some NYC authorities that Manhattan is NYC, so that is how I look at it.
