Btw, let's say you're approved next week, does that mean you are signing the lease for September 15th or October 1st? I wonder...

We had our interview two days ago with Brianna S. - she was very nice, friendly and took her time to explain everything. It did not feel like an interview, but more like a friendly, casual conversation. She was awesome! she said no 2 bedroom apartments available, just 1 bd. Went over household size (my hubby and I), income, asked about debt, credit check etc. I have mixed income, W2 (seasonal job) and 1099 (independent contractor at current job) so gave tax returns, pay stubs... Employment letters I handed were not satisfying, so she gave me 'Employment and Income Verification' to give to my employers; they need to fill it out and return directly to her. BB will look at previous years tax returns, but I guess the projection/calculation of the current income is what they look at the most. I also handed my last 6 months bank statements. She didn't look at tax returns nor bank statements in front of us, I guess it will be reviewed more in detail later. My husband is in school and currently not working, so it is just me who is employed. My credit score is 770 and we have no debt. My only concern is that I have occasional cash deposits that come in.. tips from seasonal job, cash from a friend... it is not much and it doesn't not change the overall income, so I was wondering if this can be a problem?? Does anyone have experience with that?

Also, they do not accept checks, only $25 money order, so keep that in mind (I had a check, so had to run outside of the building to get money order). I asked her what happens next... She said she will wait for my employers verification, then they will review everything and I can follow up with her via email or call and the whole process should take a month to two months! This sounds great and I hope it really is the case... I am reading other people posts who wait much much longer.

Redonion and Angel1011 - please keep us posted on your interview experience. What was your log number? Mine is 6**, no preference.

That worked out fine actually, I went over one by one and explained it. At least I thought it was fine, because my credit was checked the day after and was told that my file was then sent to the leasing specialist, who asked more questions just this week... and just now, I found a rejection letter in my mailbox when I was actually hoping I'd be approved. They totally miscalculated my income! No explanation. I don't even know how they came up with this number!? WTF. I have 10 days to appeal. This is exhausting.

What number did they come up with? Does your job give out bonuses? Overtime? How much over did they go over?

Do you think that maybe they included your deposits in your salary?

The Leasing specialist asked about my legal last name change, I emailed back and said that I have submitted my marriage certificate as a proof! Duh! Then he asked some other admin stuff - nothing about cash deposits, income, none of it! I seriously thought no way I can get rejected at that point, especially not due to income assuming I do qualify after it was checked already.. Why did he ask me all that on 08/28 to send a rejection letter due to income on 08/29

I have mixed income 1099 and W2. 1099 was counted as net income (gross minus expenses) and W2 as gross income. No bonuses, there are cash deposits that I reported and counted. They came up with $34.792. The minimum requirement for 1 bedroom is $34.972! And I know for a fact I make over 38k. This is some BS
