Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum. Thanks to all of you who have posted useful info about this housing lottery, and congrats to those who have gotten themselves new homes!

I am currently in the thick of it (had my initial interview in August, was rejected, appealed) and my application is currently being processed. I'm not sure exactly what this means but it seems at least somewhat promising. I've been told that there are no more 1 BRs available and that I have to decide if I want to have my application processed for a studio or go on the waitlist for a 1 BR. I have serious qualms about downsizing to a studio, but would rather have an apartment than not!

Do any of you have any information about whether the 1BRs have already all been rented out or if maybe some are just not finished yet? I'm trying to figure out if the waiting list would give me a decent shot or not.

Oh my God I was so nervous I have an appointment with them for April 12 but I think my situation is a little bit different because I have Secion 8 my credit is 631 I have two collections for Sprint and Att l I hope they don’t give a hard time

I am in the same stage.. from what I read here compliance is the second stage we've met the income and and housing preference. We now receive a leasing specialist. What lottery are you in? Do you have any preference?

Hey - @infohousing10 and @danny1000, did either of you get any progress?

Does anyone know what the process is once BG finally reviews your file?

I am in the CB, and had my interview/dropped off documentation (log #3xxx) in early August. Over the last few weeks, BG has been asking for additional documentation, and they said last week they finally have everything they need and will fully review my file this week.

From where, assuming my file checks out, what can I expect? Will it go immediately to HPD? How long did it take others? Excited to be near the end here but still wary that I'm going to be waiting for weeks. ANyone who can shed any context on the timeline from here for me, much appreciated.

Also - for anyone who has been accepted recently, is there still 1B availability, or only Studios? Any differences in appliances/floorplans for these income restricted units?

For people who have moved in, do you have in-unit laundry/dryer? The floorplans on streeteasy indicate that every unit has them, but the Housing Connect PDF says there's a laundry room.

Well, still hoping to hear from other folks, but in the vein of being a person going through this process who is desperate to har others; i'll give my update and timeline so far for others who are behind me - just got my credit pulled by BG so I think I should be getting notified soon that this is getting sent for final approval to HPD. Haven't seen a unit yet or discussed anything with the building.

Log #: 3,xxx
CB Pref: YES
Type: 120% AMI

- 09/07 - Email from BG asking for appointment
- 09/13 - Appointment; docs dropped off. Was requested to bring in some additional docs at appointment
- 09/20 - Dropped off additional docs
- 09/27 - Further docs requested
- 10/02 - Sent over
- 10/05 - Further docs requested
- 10/12 - Sent over
- 10/15 - Further docs requested
- 10/17 - Sent over
- 11/01 - Further docs requested
- 11/02 - Sent over
- 11/07 - Credit inquiry appeared on Transunion


So that's been my process so far in a nutshell. Considering the back and forth, not terrible so far. I've needed to supply more docs than most folks that go through this, I think, as well.

My lease in my current apartment actually runs all the way to March 09 with the last month free, so I'm okay with it taking a long time/potentially moving in in Feb, but at the same time i'm eager to know i'm truly approved by HPD and I gather that usually move in is within a few weeks, so I can't have both! Either HPD takes a long time and i'm in limbo, or I get approved soon and it's a pain in the ass to find someone to take over my lease. I guess either is fine as long as I'm approved!

The email states there are only Studios available.
I have CB Preference

a lot of construction there !

so this confirms the Studios only available question that has been asked previously .
